I am a freelance designer with nearly 20 years of experience in the design industry. I have worked for a wide range of clients including BBC, Hachette, Walker Books, Harper Collins, HIT Entertainment and SKY.
I have most recently combined my passion for children's books by working as a senior picture book designer and completing an MA in Children's Book Illustration. You can visit my illustration portfolio here: sarahfinan.com.
As well as designing books, I have produced brand styleguides for Teletubbies, Brum and Tikkabilla (BBC); Barney (Hit Entertainment) and Rupert Bear (Entertainment Rights). This involves devising strong design guidelines starting with basic elements like fonts and colour palette to then designing logos, patterns and packaging, right through to prescribing the ‘look’ for branded children’s clothing and products. I have also produced packaging styleguides for Pingu (Hit Entertainment) and Lazytown.
I am highly experienced in producing marketing material – from point of sale, web banners and sales sheets to press and outdoor advertising campaigns.
I am fully proficient in CC Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator and I like to use all skill sets in my work. I enjoy seeing every job from initial briefing, through the creative process to final print. I am used to thinking on my feet and working to tight deadlines.
